2012 / 2013 Budget Info

The development of the 2012-2013 budget has begun.  The budget will be discussed in meetings of the Board's Finance Committee and in additional meetings of the entire Board of Education.  A list of currently scheduled meetings is provided below.  Meanwhile, we invite community members to join in the conversation and planning.  Consider hosting a budget coffee in your home; in your neighborhood; or with your civic group.  The Superintendent and/or a Board of Education member will attend to respond to questions from you and your neighbors.  Click here, or contact Dr. Constantino at 973-383-4151 to inquire further.

With the new imposed 2% cap on the district's tax levy, our fixed cost expenses (salaries, benefits, utilities, etc.) are outpacing our ability to grow our budget.  This is forcing us to look for ways to find additional revenue and reduce expenses.  The meetings listed above, along with neighborhood and civic group forums are part of an ongoing effort to inform and engage our school community and the community at large.  Again, please feel free to contact us at any time with questions or suggestions.
