BPU did have its first pre-hearing conference yesterday, February 26 in Newark. Fredon was well represented at the hearing with two of the Board's attorneys, as well as Courtney Wisinski and Sal Constantino representing the school and Dave Slaparued of Stop the Lines and Tadd Wisinski of the Fredon PALS organization also in attendance. A schedule is yet to be set by BPU but PSE&G has presented a VERY aggressive timeline with all final decisions to be made no later than July 31, 2009. While the Board's attorneys and others did oppose this time line it does appear that BPU will probably ultimately agree to a fairly aggressive set of dates. We will all be under great pressure to get our experts in line and and to get organized quickly.
The school is going to be hiring a PR firm very soon and is already consulting with several health experts and an engineer on this matter. We urge all parents and community members to contact and get involved in the Fredon PALS organization. Your involvement is CRITICAL. Change is possible but not without a united community response. |
