Fredon's Monday morning celebrated the beginning of Respect week by showing a video created by last year's students on the meaning of respect. This video can still be view by choosing the "Respect" link on Fredon's website. Each student also received a pencil with the phrase "It's cool to be kind - never use hurtful words and help others in need". Student's created poems that were read on the morning news show within the school. 6th graders performed skits to demonstrate their understanding of kindness and respect, while others related real-life issues of bullying and respect to the issues addressed in the novel "Holes" by L. Sachar.
Mrs. Huffsmith's 2nd grade class created the respect flower garden by discussed ways to grow respect in our school and at home.
Miss Scott's 2nd grade class created balloons with a respect message towards their classmates.
Miss Mitchell's 3rd grade class created a respect quilt. The quilt depicted pictures and messages of respect.
In Miss Radimer's health classes, students created a jigsaw puzzle to connect with kindness.
