Fredon 3rd graders make Jello cells

At Fredon School, Mrs. Monica Cacciaguida's 3rd grade Science students have been studying the cellular structure and functions of plant and animal cells. As a culminating activity, the students made a 3-dimensional model of an animal cell using Jello. The Jello itself represented the cytoplasm, a Raisnet was used to represent the nucleus, a jellybean, that was cut in half, represented the vacuoles and a Pull-n-Peel Twizzler was used to represent the cell membrane. The students ate their molds the next day, after they had set.  Everyone learned a lot and had a fun and tasty treat!
