Fredon Board of Education Notice of Board Member Vacancy
The Fredon Board of Education has a vacancy on the Board of Education to be filled by a resident of Fredon Township. The appointed term shall be from the date of appointment through December 31, 2027.
Those eligible residents of Fredon Township having an interest in filling the position shall send a letter providing information about themselves and summarizing their interest in the position. All letters must be received by 4:00 pm on Wednesday, November 11, 2026.
Interviews will be held by the Board of Education at the Regular Board Meeting on Monday, November 16, 2026 in executive session. Interested persons will be notified as to a specific time for the interview.

c/o Fredon Township Board of Education, 459 Route 94, Newton, NJ 07860 or emailed to esiipola@fredon.org
Legal requirements:
• Is a citizen of the United States of America
• Must be able to read and write
• Be a resident of Fredon for at least one year preceding the date of the appointment
• Have no interest in any contract with, or claim against the board
• Is not disqualified as a voter pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:4-1
• Is a registered voter in the district
• Not hold office as mayor or member of the municipal governing body
• Is not disqualified from membership for the conviction of crimes pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:12-1*
*Within 30 days of appointment to the board, a member must undergo a criminal history
background check through the New Jersey Department of Education.
This year’s Halloween Parade will be held on Friday, October 30. Parents coming to watch the parade should arrive between 2:15-2:25. The parade starts promptly at 2:25. Thank you for your continued cooperation.

Dear Fredon Township School Community,
In observance of Veteran’s Day, Fredon School District will be hosting a ceremony on Wednesday, November 11th at 2:00 PM, to honor and recognize the contributions of those in our community who have served in the United States Armed Forces. As part of the program, we would like to personally acknowledge members of our Fredon community who are United States Military Veterans.
In anticipation of the event, our students will be completing classroom lessons and writing activities aimed at raising awareness of the invaluable contributions made by our veterans. Please note on the form below any family members who are U.S. military veterans and kindly indicate if they would be available and willing to attend our program.
Additionally, we would like to create a bulletin board display to pay further tribute to our Fredon community members. If you would like to contribute towards this display, please send in a copy of a photograph, along with a name and branch of service. You may also choose to email scanned photos and a brief description to lsanders@fredon.org. This is due by November 4th.
We thank you in advance for your consideration of this event and look forward to partnering with the families and community of Fredon to make this a memorable and meaningful event for our school and veterans.
